I took the D train from the Tremont station on the Concourse every work day from 1960 to 1970 down to 50th street at 6th avenue and then walked to the Sperry Rand building on 51st street where I worked.

In November 1965, I was stuck on the train coming home when the blackout happened and the transit workers forced open the doors so we could get out, walked along the tracks to a ladder which led to an opening on the Grand Concourse near 175th street and walked home from there.

The fare back then was 15 cents. I still have a token.
