OK. That would make more sense. It was a powerful race winner. In Lloyd Ultan's "The Beautiful Bronx" on page 76 is a street photo. A sign on one of the stores says:

Diamond's
dalet shin beit
Delicatesssen
Lunch

The Hebrew characters are in the same order left to right as on the race car hood scoop. Do you know what the dalet shin bet would refer to on that sign?
