I went to P.S. 96 (K through 6th grade) and P.S.89 (7th and 8th grades) from 1943 to 1952. I never experienced any kind of corporal/physical punishment inflicted upon me or my fellow classmates. While some of our teachers were strict disciplinarians, we were very lucky to have been spared such "torture" (LOL).
