Hi, Lou!

Just a thought.... If plans had been approved to construct the IRT elevated train tracks along Boston Road going through Bronx Park inside the grounds of the zoo, it would have eventually (and most likely) met up with White Plains Road which intersects with Boston Road, slightly north of the present Pelham Parkway station. If that were the case, the Pelham Parkway station at White Plains Road might have been built differently from the way it looks today, as the tracks would have sharply turned northward onto White Plains Road. In other words, the north end of the station would have been closer to Astor Avenue (one block north of Pelham Parkway) and the station itself might have curved around with the tracks. Today`s Bronx Park East station and East 180th Street/Morris Park Avenue station (excluding the Dyre Avenue line) would not exist!

Thanks for the info!
Sammy
