Sammy, it was a nice area before I left, but, I left in July 1952 and didn't really come back except for my Mom's funeral in Feb 1959. I passed through on assignments and when I came home on leave in 1971 before going back to Vietnam the world didn't wait for me. I walked around the old neighborhood and found a few things that were still there. I went to PS 13,Olinville 113(that has changed its name now) and to Evander when I grad in Jan 1952. I went work for hallmark greeting cards down in Manhattan and the in july 52 left the city and went to Albany to live with my dad he, was an electrical engineer for the state and when my 19th birthday came along so did Uncle Sam. In all the years I spent in the military, I never got to Europe everything was the other way from Canad to Southeast Asia(Hawaii, Guam,Vietnam and Korea. I had a few bases in the states. I met my second wife in Korea we, have been married 42 years now.
