The Bronx Zoo

I was back in the area visiting family and we all decided to go to the zoo. There were lots of changes since we last went, about 20 years ago - some good, some bad. Admission was very expensive. With parking, it cost almost $300 for 5 of us. (I know it's free on Wednesdays, but we couldn't go then.) The exhibits were mostly the same, and many were wonderful, especially the World of Birds and the Reptile House. The main cafeteria was far better than it was back then, with lots of quality food and drink choices. However, most of the snack stations throughout the zoo and the shuttles were closed due to low attendance volume. The Asian Plaza was completely shut down except for the monorail ride. A few small exhibits like the foxes (where the polar bears used to be) were closed as well. I was disappointed and annoyed that along with those high prices, the management shut down so many features without notification when we first entered. Overall, it was a pretty good visit, but expensive.
