For displaced, misplaced, and nostalgic ex-Bronxites

Posted by Chr7 on Friday, April 17th 2026: In Reply to: Travel to the Bronx posted by Barbara on Thursday, April 16th 2026: I live closeby enough to find a convenient excuse to take a detour for a trip down memory lane through the old neighborhood. All the tenement buildings on Harrison Avenue are still intact albeit NYCHA owned & operated. Some of the private homes are gone and been replaced by 2 & 3 story multi family dwellings. PS 26 still there, Holy Spirit School is now a school for social justice. The old Burnside Manor is now a big medical facility as is the north east corner of Burnside and Harrison Avenues.
