STADIUM AUTO WRECKERS (near Yankee Stadium)

Anyone remember the auto wrecking yard two blocks from Yankee Stadium that went out of business in 1972? Mayor Lindsay did a quid-pro-quo with CBS where NYC bought the losing Yankees in exchange for favorable coverage of his presidential campaign. Lindsay razed every structure he could around the stadium and put in parking lots, forcing my dad's business out. It was across from the Bronx Detention Center. I have the fondest childhood memories of tearing cars apart there with a screwdriver my dad gave me.
