My in-laws bought a unit in the Villages many years ago. I know why they liked it: relatively cheap, and essentially just a relocated shtetl of people from the Bronx. To me, it looked like army barracks, and most of its residents were tired, unhappy retirees waiting.... The absence of young people in the entire area was like a dystopian sci-fi movie. Ugh.
