Anyone out there an alumni of P.S. 106? If so, do you remember a garden which was located in a chain linked fenced area bordering on Odell St. I remember plots of earth bisected by walkways where students were allowed to grow their own vegetables. The guy in charge wore white shirt sleeves and his name (believe it or not) was Mr. Green. I grew chard and brought it home have it cooked.
I always thought it special that city kids from the Bronx would be able to work with the soil at school. Any P.S. 106 alumni out there that recall the garden in the schoolyard?
