Visiting the 5&10 under the Pelham Parkway El -- and looking at the stacks of Brand New School Stuff!! Spiffy Looking plastic and cardboard briefcases that smelled so good and would fall apart by the middle of the semester - spiral notebooks with colorful covers -- cool or wacky book covers (unless you used grocery bags to cover your books)and the pencil cases and wooden rulers and those triangular rubber erasers to top your pencils with.
