Shocked and saddened to see the demise of Jimmy Ryan's bar on Middletown Road in the East Bronx when we stopped by after having dinner at the Pine Tavern Saturday night. Hadn't been to Jimmy Ryan's in close to 2 years with covid. Was expecting to hear a good live rock band which they usually had on Saturday nights and always drew a big crowd of neighborhood regulars. I knew something was wrong when there were multiple empty parking spaces right out front of the joint and nobody out there smoking cigarettes. Definitely one of the last bars in The Bronx to have live rock bands that I knew of. We walked inside and there were just a handful of people, stayed for 1 drink and sadly won't ever be back.

Does anyone know when Jimmy's sold and where do all the old regulars go to locally now. They really should change the name. End of an era.
