Hi, Ralph!

According to John McNamara in his "History In Asphalt", Castle Hill Avenue "was the original Indian path leading out to the point of land where European voyagers reported seeing a palisaded fort (KASTEEL) at approximately Lacombe and Castle Hill Avenues. The nineteenth century road led to the estate, "Castle Hill", owned by Gouverneur Morris Wilkins, who passed it to his daughter and son-in-law John Screvin".

I hope this information is helpful. Like you, Ralph, I was always curious about how the "Castle" in Castle Hill Avenue got its name.
