Thank you, Richie, for letting us know about the Roller Drome and Puddlers`Row! I researched Puddlers`Row in "History in Asphalt" and found the following information: PUDDLERS` ROW -- "The Johnson Iron Works on Spuyten Duyvil Creek employed foundrymen, called "puddlers" from 1852 to 1923. The men and their families lived along what is today Johnson Avenue and Kappock Street". By some remote chance, perhaps that area could be the location of the old homestead in the photo! (I still think the actual location of the photo is somewhere on or near the grounds of Co-op City). Thanks again! Reference ID: BX90407 |
