Just a guess... could this be the corner of Washington Avenue and East 176th Street? It's where the Tremont branch of the NY Public Library was built over 100 years ago. The photo clue mentions "entertainment"- the Bronx Winter Garden was next to it on Washington Avenue where boxing and wrestling matches were held in the 1940s and 50s.
