Hi, Steve!

Webster Avenue, north of Fordham Road, once had the elevated tracks of the former Third Avenue El train which ran through Norwood and stopped at the 204th Street station, close to Bronx Park, The Bronx River and Botanical Garden. There were two other elevated stations in Norwood along Webster Avenue: 200th Street (Bedford Park Boulevard) and 210th Street. During the 1940s and early 50s, I grew up on the other side of the park, in the Allerton /White Plains Road neighborhood. I used to take many walks across the park, over the Bronx River to 204th Street. I remember those elevated subway tracks and station very well. I wouldn`t be a bit surprised if the Riverside Diner`s location in the photo turns out to be somewhere underneath the old elevated tracks of Webster Avenue!

Be well!
Sammy
