I agree with John`s response to you regarding Tremont Avenue as being the longest Bronx crossing from the Harlem River to the East River. While you are correct in pointing out that 149th Street and 138th Street also extend from the Harlem River to the East River, their distance between the two rivers is very short compared to Tremont Avenue`s distance between the rivers. Also, West Tremont Avenue becomes East Tremont Avenue at Jerome Avenue, but there is no "West 149th Street" and "West 138th Street" in The Bronx...only "East".
