In "History in Asphalt" under the Walker Avenue entry, McNamara states that Tremont Avenue was the only Avenue that crossed the entire Bronx from river to river. I have to disagree, having grown up near 149th street. That crossed from river to river and I suspect that 138th Street did to. And, of course, so did the Cross-Bronx Expressway.
