Of course there was no vaccine at the time but I was one of the very lucky ones....I couldn't walk. My
Dad had to carry me up to the fourth floor, we had no elevator , every time we went out. I don't
remember much...only the room where I got P.T. in the Flatiron building on Tremont & the Grand
Concourse. I'm left with scoliosis and one hip higher then the other one....as I said, I'm one of the
lucky ones.

My cousin Stanley was in Bellviue hospital and receiving the Sister Kenny treatments. He said
a chiropractor was responsible for his complete recovery.

My family blamed the water in the lake, Keneonga Lake (White Lake) in the Catskills because we
both got. it at the same time that summer.
