Sorry. My bad. I must have changed my email. Duh! Anyway, in the late 40's at St Helena grammar school I was selected to be a patrol boy. I know I was "selected" or drafted because I did not volunteer for this. We were given a white sash to go around our waist and shoulders with a badge. Our job was to keep kids from running/crossing Weschester ave before the light turned green. Thank God I never had to do anything dramatic like run out and save a life. We were also to guard the church steps and not allow kids to play there. If anyone refused to cooperate I was to take their name and turn it in. Only 1 kid didn't cooperate. I took his name but didn't turn. Malfeasance in action. These days they pay old men and women to do that job.
