I learned early. Someone was hit by a car on West Tremont Ave as it came around a slight curve.
Our building wanted a light. Everyone came out, stopped traffic and protested....even ended up in
court.....end result: a yellow caution light

It must have stayed with me. I spent years with CORE - a civil rights group when I lived in Manhattan
I learned early on that it was important to speak out. I am high risk, so I am not out there today.
