Hi, John !

You really covered Bronx Park so much more than I did! I enjoyed walking across the park for the purpose of getting to and from the 205th Street station of the "D" train. During my growing up years of the 40s and early 50s, it was my favorite leisurely walk, even though I lived a half block from the Allerton Avenue elevated station at White Plains Road. I moved out of that neighborhood in 1952 when I was 13 years old, so I never encountered any gangs nearby on both sides (east and west) of the park. I always felt very safe and happy during my back and forth walks across the park.

Be well!
Sammy
