Mary...I forgot to mention that 3965 Monticello Avenue (built by my grandfather) was my very FIRST Bronx home until I was two years old. We were living on the top floor (3rd floor attic apartment). My grandparents lived on the middle floor and their other tenants lived on the ground floor. My parents, brother and I moved to Cruger Avenue in the Allerton/White Plains Road neighborhood in 1941. I have always enjoyed reading your postings over the years, Mary. Thank you again for posting!
