Did You Have Family Living In The Bx. Before 1898?

In 1898, The Great North Side of New York City became the Borough of The Bronx. Only seventeen years later in 1915, my paternal grandparents, along with my Dad and his siblings settled in The Bronx on Beck Street where they moved up from Manhattan. Likewise, just four years later, in 1919, my maternal grandparents, my Mom and her siblings moved from Manhattan to Freeman Street. I strongly suspect that there are some of us here on this Board whose Bronx family roots go back to pre-1898 when there was no borough called "The Bronx". If so, does that apply to you? Can you give us the relationship to your ancestors and approximate year of their settling in what was soon to be The Bronx?
