My cousin and I, as children, were in Koneonga Lake in the Catskills when we both got
diagnosed with polio. This is before vaccines. He ended up in Bellview hospital and I
got P.T. in the flat iron building on the Grand Concourse & Tremont Avenue..mine was
considered very mild. He got what was called Sister Kenny treatment....eventually he did very too....I heard later on that my school (Macomb's JHS 82) closed as a result of the spread of polio. Did anyone else know of experience polio?
