We called it Bainbridge, now called Norwood. It was an undiscovered area in the 50's 7 60's.It was isolated from the rest of the Bronx by Bronx Park, Mosholu Parkway,Van Cortland Park & Woodlawn Cemetery.Because of this we had all the benefits of small town life while enjoying the all the perks of big city living. It really did seem like we knew everyone ,We had great subways & buses, a short ride to Fordham Rd.,City Island etc.the great Oval park, first class Montefiore Hospital,The Botanical Gardens & the Zoo.A great variety of local stores & barsLOL and excellent schools.I've lived all over the Bronx and nowhere else came close.
