Speaking of wild birds -- one laaazy summer day we were listening to a sparrow chirping under our windows at 151 Pelham Parkway (back then there was a jungle of bushes under the windows -- boxwood that smelled so GOOD when they were pruned). Mom Sylvia said "Isn't that sweet!! LISTEN!! She's called to her baaabies!!" And yes it was cute and we listened-- and we immediately heard some guy yell "HEY LAAARRY!!!" and we broke up laughing.
