Growing up on Gleason (2141) ave we really enjoyed our trees om the street. Fall would bring "tons" of leaves for us little kids to pile up and jump into. Trees were also used for home base playing hide n seek. An escape from a heavy rainfall also was a plus. At that time in the 40's there were about 14 trees. A while back on the BB I mentioned I walked through the street and was sad to see every tree was gone. It looked like the "concrete jungle" that many streets in the BX were called. Well, guess what ? Thanks to the miracle of computers and Vpikedotcom you can ride through the street and see that about 18 trees have been planted on the block for the new residents to enjoy. I was very happy to see this improvement..
