If this photo is showing Lydig (not "Lydia") Avenue, the El train and tracks would be crossing over Lydig Avenue at White Plains Road and would not be seen in the photo. I lived in that neighborhood from 1952 to 1955 after my family and I moved from the Allerton neighborhood to the Pelham Parkway neighborhood. It looks like it could be the intersection of Lydig Avenue and Cruger Avenue...although there must be similar intersections like that in other Bronx neighborhoods with stores close to apartment buildings.
