Where Was Your Favorite Hill For Sledding?

With the approach of Winter, our thoughts go back to our carefree growing up days in The Bronx when we would take out our sleds and head for the closest hill to our homes that were perfect for sledding. My hill was inside a wide open lot on White Plains Road, just south of Allerton Avenue, stretching for a full block to Olinville Avenue. It was very steep! The hill began on street level on the White Plains Road side and ended in what seemed like a deep crater formation, well below the Olinville Avenue side. That "convenient" hill was very popular with the neighborhood kids.

Where did you go sledding? Was it on a street, in a park or in an open lot?
