I lived on East 240th st. As I recall the Farrand Optical factory was used as an Army Reserve training center in the mid-60s. They had a tank parked in the rear.

I worked at another company in that area called MACARR, Inc, on Bullard Ave during my junior and senior years in college. Come to think of it, I also worked there in graduate school. They made mil-spec power supplies, battery chargers, motor-generator controllers, transformers, etc.
