Krakauer pianos were the last of the many pianos that were manufactured in Mott Haven where the South Bronx was once known as "The Piano Manufacturing Capital of The World" from the late 19th through the first half of the 20th century. In fact, what is also "GONE FROM HERE BUT STILL AROUND" are the U.S. Capitol Dome and the statue of Abraham Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial. Both were manufactured in Mott Haven!
