My Dad worked for Con Ed, but passed away at the early age of 33, leaving no penson and I'm not even sure if he had insurance. My Mom, having 3 small children, worked in various places: Hearns, Dad's Coffee Shop, Hella Landsman Sewing Shop, MacFadden Publications and retired from the Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEE) in a clerical position. Damn straight I was proud of them both, but especially Mom.
