1950-1954 - A&P on White plains Rd. near 229th St.
1957-1961 - Daitch on the round corner of Burnside and Harrison. Then The Shopping Cart opened on Burnside just east of Harrison.
1961-1964 - Pioneer on 176th near Walton/ A&P on Jerome bet. 175th and 176th Sts.
For quick stops there was a mom and pop store on the corner of 175th. and Townend Ave. They would add up the bill on the paper bag with a pencil. Ahh, the memories of the old days.
