I have to agree with Mike L. Parkchester was truly an amazing place and kept up beautifully by Met Life. Eventually almost half of my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents lived there. Where we lived (Gleason just north of the Cross Bx) had at least 10 trees when we were living there. About 5 years ago I walked thru the street and every tree was gone. Now it does look like an "asphalt jungle". However I do have to say that all the 2 family homes were still looking real good.
