The Trolleys stop running in my neighborhood about 1948. I went away to summer camp with the PAL and when I got home buses were belching all the diesel smoke. I remember hitching on the back of trolleys & placing things on the tracks.
Why were they replaced ? It was politics plan and simple the bus manufactures lobbied the politicians & spread big bucks around. The Trolleys were history.
