The American Bank Note Company was a huge complex in the Hunts Point Section (Tiffany St. and Lafayette Ave.) It printed postage stamps, currencies, checks, financial documents, etc. for countries throughout the world. It was known locally as "The Bank Note", and had next to it a long steep hill that let out into traffic. It was great for sledding for crazy types (I was too chicken). I lived on Tiffany St. and saw it from our windows and when I went out of our building every day when I was growing up. The building is now used for other purposes and you can see it from the Bruckner Expressway as you drive by. Also, don't forget another big business enterprise called the Yankee Stadium (although I was partial to Ebbets Field in Brooklyn).
