During World War 2 there was a lot of factory activity in the area around 133rd St'and Lincoln Ave. The Unique Window balance company made window balances for the military and employed several hundred people, most from the neighborhood. There was the Pomeroy co. which made bomb casings among other things. They were on 133rd. St. and were medium sized at that time.
