A lot on Van Nest Ave. between Wallace and Barnes Aves
Built a pigeon coup in 1953, lasted 18 months.
Burnt Christmas trees there for several years.
In fall, built a large fire and threw numerous potatoes in it.
Boy, those burnt Mickies tasted great.
Now, 6 two story houses, wall to wall occupy this " kids dream place."
And now, our grandkids play with electronic devices.
Hope they are as happy as we were.
OH, for those good ole days in the 40's and 50's Bronx
