Harry...I ALWAYS used that lot as a shortcut walking to and from P.S. 96! During the winter, whenever we were lucky enough to get a substantial amount of snow, I would go sledding with my friends down the steep hill inside the lot starting from the White Plains Road side to the bottom of the hill/depression which was closer to the Olinville Avenue side. I`ll bet you did the same, am I correct? I never knew that the tall apartment building at 2550 Olinville was called "The Allerville" until now. Thanks for mentioning it! I moved out of the neighborhood to the Pelham Parkway section in 1952. Did you go to P.S. 96? I graduated from the 6th grade there in 1950.
