IND Subway Stations

Did anyone else use the subway stations to cross the Grand Concourse? We used to do that at the 167th St station. Also, does anyone recall the bus stops in the middle of the tunnel under the Concourse? It was weird that you had to go UP stairs to get to the subway! I also remember that every other pole along the station had a penny gum machine with a large rotating knob. You put your penny in the slot above the flavor you wanted and spun that knob. California Fruit Gum!
