I remember it well. I was in the subway just before 110th and Lenox Ave. station. We were jammed into the cars from 96th st since it was rush hour. We were stuck not knowing what was going on until the cops came with flashlights and led us out of the train - onto the tracks and then up to the station. I had no idea of how to get home and asked a cop. Told him my husband was in the Academy and he had me wait in the patrol car until he got me a cab. I was only 21 and scared to death.
