I got mine when I was 19 working in Albany NY. Igot trans for taking the physical from NYC to Albany. Took the physical and test and the good Army Sgt said I was going to be drafted into the Army. I told him that I already signed up for the AF and they were waiting for theresults. The good Sgt actually called the recruiting office and they told him what I said (but I hadn't signed the papers yet). I went down to the recruiting off ice and signed and that Saturday morning I was on a bus for Sampson AFB, NY and that was the beginning of a 24 year career for me. (Apr 1953-Apr 1977).
