On Harrison Ave. right by Burnside there was a very small candy store called Yellens (sp?). It only had 4 or 5 seats at the counter. Back in the late '50s - early '60s I would buy candy for a nickle, Superman and Superboy comics, etc. for a dime, bags of Royal potatoe chips for .5, Spaldeens for either .20 or .25, malteds for .30, etc. It also had a sidewalk window counter. The granddaughter used to post on her, but I haven't seen her here in a few years. It was nice conversing with her about the store and her grandparents. Can't believe that was 60 years ago!!!!!
