Is Mundezano the same as Manzano in northeast Italy? If so, it might explain the languages that your mother spoke. Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia's mother (Irene Coen, a Yiddish-speaking Jew) was born in Trieste, which is close to Manzano. His father Achille was an Italian Catholic. Because of the languages that Fiorello learned from his mother, he was able to campaign for Congressman and then Mayor in English, Italian, Yiddish and Serbo-Croatian (Yugoslavian).
