It's my understanding that Yiddish is a combination of Polish, Russian, German and possibly someother Slavic languages,...my grandmother spoke Yiddish to my Mom,...my Mom's first language was Yiddish and her parents came from Poland. I grew up listening to Yiddish. Hebrew is a separate language,...where it came from? Somebody,..help me out? Whoever I knew grewing up learned Hebrew in Hebrew School! Maybe the Synagogue created it????? Isn't Hebrew the language of Israel?..(again,..correct me if I'm wrong!)
